Second Annual Balkan Chestnut Festival is Oct 12th

Celebrate the chestnut harvest with Balkan music, local wine, and your local community at "The Second Annual Balkan Chestnut Festival at Wyoming Farm in Clinton, Maryland", which will be featuring Zlatne Uste Balkan Brass Band, Orchester Praževica and Szikra. Zlatne Uste is the only American band to play at the world famous Guca Trumpet Competition in Serbia. Local bands include Orchester Prazevica, known for their "Eastern Block Party" and Szikra who play traditional Hungarian dance music. Dance instruction by Jamie Platt of Dancing Planet Productions will precede the music so that everyone can join in the fun. Olney Winery will be serving local wine and From Scratch LC will be serving excellent Balkan cuisine. Activities for kids include lawn games and face painting, while farm tours of this nationally registered historic place and excellent views of the Piscataway Creek valley are available for all.
